Order tags and fulfilment

Every dated order carries its date in three places, so the rest of your operation can read it:

  • An order tag: ND-Delivery: 2026/10/23. Search orders by it in Shopify, or use it in Flow, pick lists and exports.
  • The “Delivery date” order attribute: 2026/10/23, shown under the order’s additional details and available to order notifications.
  • Shopify’s “Fulfill by” date, set from your fulfilment days, cutoff and delivery time, so the order sorts by when it has to go out. This needs the fulfilment permissions Dalbie Dates asks for when you install it.

Home’s Orders to fulfil today links straight to the orders due to go out today.

When an order’s date can’t be kept

Occasionally an order arrives with a date that can’t be delivered: it has already passed (for example from an old cart), it isn’t one of your delivery days, or it’s blocked or full. That’s rare with the checkout rule on, because checkout stops those dates first.

When it happens, Dalbie Dates moves the order to the next day you can deliver, and updates everything that shows the date: the order tag, the “Delivery date” (so the Thank you and order status pages show the new date), and the “Fulfill by” date. It also tags the order ND-Date moved and lists it on Home, with the date the customer chose and why it couldn’t be kept, so you can let them know. See Flagged orders and changing dates.
